News, shows, things you should know.

MARCH 20, 2014 by merryellenkirk

Hello & happy springtime!
I am living in a new town since last we spoke (Columbia, Missouri), and finally all settled in & loving it here. I am playing a show at the local radio station, KOPN, on Sunday night (6pm central time) which you cantune into live from anywhere in the world if you like: http://kopn.org

I just got back a couple of weeks ago from a songwriting conference near Santa Barbara, CA that was incredibly inspiring. I came home & wrote one of my best songs yet….with many more to come. Thank you so much to everyone who has been voting on ArtistSignal** & subscribing on Patronism – between the two, you paid for this incredibly fruitful trip, and you’ll be hearing the results soon – including are-release of “Be My Love” in the works, with production by Aaron Krause of The Shakespeares.

In case you are caught unawares as to this whole “Patronism” thing – it’s a way that you can support my music, while gaining access to all sorts of exclusive content from me: new demos of songs I am currently working on, unreleased tracks, alternate versions, & a lot of my earliest work, as well as exclusive blogs & videos. Check it out & find out more here: www.patronism.com/merryellenkirk

I am currently booking house concerts in the midwest & southern California. If filling your house up with music & friends sounds like a good idea to you, reply back to this email and we’ll talk details.
Also, remember all three of my solo albums are available for free or whatever-price-you-wish, on both Noisetrade & Bandcamp (just type 0 if you want it free). I need your help to spread the word! Share it on Facebook, tweet it on Twitter, blog about it (or tell your blogger friends) – let’s get this music out to the world!
Thanks always for all your support,
Merry Ellen Kirk

**If you have been voting on ArtistSignal, thank you so much for all of your support. I’m not trying to “win” anymore, I just don’t have the time to keep pushing it as hard as it would require. However, if you have the time & want to keep voting, each vote does support my music & I truly appreciate it.

Very much enjoyed the music on your website. My wife and I are new CIYH hosts looking for an artist for our first in home concert Oct. 19. We live in Hartfield VA…a small rural town near the Chesapeake Bay an hour east of Richmond VA.

Hi – I was the sound guy doing the mix at last weekend’s EcoArtFest at Cooper’s Landing. I’ll be mixing your set this weekend to be delivered to the MoRivCC video editor to strip to the video of your performance.

Which was great in every way. I’m now a real fan – not something I can say about very many musicians, local or otherwise. All the best in your artistic endeavors. I may become a patron if I can find room in my (very tiny, very limited) budget.

Lastly, I’m a musician – a former bassist for Hilary Scott, among many gigs I’ve had. And I compose and produce electronic music – lots of it.

    Cheers!
